Dr. Marcus Belin is a native of Chicago, Illinois. He attended Bradley University, where he received his bachelor’s (‘10) and master’s in education administration (‘14). He completed his doctorate at National Louis University in July 2020. Dr. Belin serves as the Principal of Huntley High School and President of the Illinois Principals Association. Recently, Dr. Belin was named the National Association of Secondary School Principals Digital Principal of the Year and ASCD International Emerging Leader Class of 2021. Dr. Belin is passionate about integrating technology into the learning environment and has transformed his school community to connect using social media. Dr. Belin connects with other educators from across the country through his podcast Unapologetic Leadership. Dr. Belin makes it clear to all kids that “You Matter!” These are 2 small words with an impactful meaning that hinges on the belief that everyone has a purpose and that mental and physical health is most important. Dr. Belin’s wife is an educator, as well, and they have three children.
